Bloom Diagnostics is a Swiss HealthTech company with a mission to make healthcare more accessible. It builds patient-centric home diagnostics solutions. Its flagship product allows for the measurement of biomarkers from a drop of blood, in real-time; the quantitative results are displayed on the Bloom App.
The system’s elements combine to create a cohesive, intelligent system. The visually defining design feature is the LED ring on the reader, which lights up to show gestures during interaction.
In 2021, The Bloom System won the Red Dot Design Award in the Product Design category.
The system has three components:
Tests strips : Lateral flow assays (LFA) to detect for various biomarkers in the blood.
Reader: In which the test strip is inserted and provides quantitative results of such biomarkers.
App: iOS & Android Apps that display results, recommendations and insights in real time.
In my role as design lead at the Med Tech company, I led the product design development and software improvement for mobile iOS and Android apps. Created wireframes, high fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes.
Led generation and expansion of a UI design system and collaterals like 3D animations, renders and illustrations. Led the design of Bloom’s product packaging, from concept to execution. Worked with the marketing team to define Bloom’s brand visual and communication style.
